 Charlamagne Tha God is here to stay at "The Breakfast Club" and iHeartMedia, despite hater reports ... the radio czar just signed a new $200 million deal with iHeartMedia!!!

Much speculation surrounded Charlamagne's status with iHeart in the wake of the shake-ups at Hot 97, which led to the departure of Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg, and a few others.

However, Charlamagne broke the news through Forbes on Friday, expressing his desire to expand his Black Effect network into the "BET" of podcasting!!!

Charlamagne compared himself to Marvel's "Smart Hulk" in the Forbes interview ... "When Bruce Banner learns how to combine himself with The Incredible Hulk, he's Smart Hulk. I'm Lenard McKelvey. Charlamagne is now an extension of that."

The announcement caps off a HUGE week for Charlamagne's 'Breakfast Club' team of DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious and Loren LoRosa -- they inked a Netflix deal earlier this week!!!

Blogger Tasha K claimed her sources informed her Charlamage wasn't renewing with iHeart because of his political views and several others speculated as well ... LOUD AND WRONG!!!

Kendrick Lamar at Super Bowl 'Don't Kill My Vibe' ... Cheers & Jeers for Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar is receiving mixed reactions following his NFL Super Bowl LIX halftime performance ... even after he included his extremely popular Drake diss track "Not Like Us" in the lineup.

In addition to the hit song -- which won him five Grammys last week -- he performed other crowd-pleasers, including "gnx," "peekaboo" and "HUMBLE." He also brought out SZA for their hits "All the Stars" and "Luther," and even had Serena Williams -- who once dated Drake -- crip-walking to "Not Like Us." Samuel L. Jackson opened up the performance dressed as Uncle Sam to preside over the show.

But not all viewers were pleased. Many fans slammed the show as "boring," with some even claiming they switched channels to pass the time.

Some displeased viewers rated Kendrick's as the worst halftime show performance they've ever seen ... and others went as far as demanding Roc Nation -- Jay-Z's company that began producing the halftime shows in 2019 -- be banned from controlling a halftime performance ever again.

Drake is probably loving the hate ... but KL got plenty of praise for his performance, too. Viewers applauded him for keeping Drake's name in "Not Like Us" and for bringing his exes into the mix. Others gave him points for playing new music and not just leaning into nostalgia, while also highlighting his creativity for the political messages. 

Kendrick followed last year's record-setting Super Bowl -- featuring Usher with Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., will.i.am, Lil Jon and Ludacris at halftime -- which brought in 123.4 million viewers. In fact, last year's game is the second most-watched TV program ever, next to the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing.

Regardless of what people say ... Kendrick is the first rapper to ever headline the big game solo. Plenty of reason for "Pride!"

Andra Day, Usher & Icons Perform At SuperBowl

The SuperBowl starts off with Andra Day singing, "Lift Every Voice," sending her soul throughout the stadium following Post Malone singing, "America the Beautiful" in the city of Las Vegas. 

Following that amazing performance, Reba McEntire eloquently takes the field singing the National Anthem. It was beautifully done! 

During the halftime show, Usher glows in a white suit performing elegantly with other dancers on the football field. 

Usher than presents Alicia Keys at the piano. 

As the "caught up" artist continues he takes his shirts off, not a wardrobe malfunction, singing his heart out! 

Lil Jon appears rhyming within a crowd of people performing with Usher. It was an awesome duo!

This was overall a spectacular halftime show.

Drake's YOLO Estate Sells

 Drake YOLO Estate Sells For $12 Million

Drake can pop champagne, because he just unloaded the main residence of his YOLO estate.

TMZ has learned the deal closed Friday, with an unknown buyer scooping up Drake's former pad for $12 million ... which is well below the $14.8 million asking price.

Remember ... Champagne Papi's YOLO estate is made up of 3 contiguous homes in an exclusive neighborhood in Hidden Hills.

Drake put the entire compound on the market back in March, drawing interest from celebs like Britney Spears and Caitlyn Jenner, before Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford dropped $11 million on the 2 smaller homes.

The main residence, which just sold, is an English Tudor ... and it's 12,500 square feet of pure luxury.

The place has all the bells and whistles ... including 6 fireplaces, a wine cellar and tasting room, plus a 25-seat theater and naturally, a recording studio.

The backyard is a total oasis ... featuring a huge swimming pool with a spa grotto, swim-up bar, waterfalls and an 80 foot long rock waterslide, surrounded by big-screen TVs.

Oh and Drake's place also has separate courts to play tennis, basketball and sand volleyball ... plus a horse stable, equestrian ring and a mechanical riding bull.

Safe to say the new owner will be well entertained.

 While UrbanMusicBuzz has been teetering a little, but not out of the woods by retiring, we are soon getting ready to celebrate a 12 year anniversary! Hurray, Hurray!

Due to the unfortunate circumstance that host Chris Tian has been mourning the loss of his father, Tian does not want to quit hosting UrbanMusicBuzz radio show. Tian wants to keep supporting amazing musical artists and really enjoys listening and sharing their stories to the listeners on the show. 

Chris, not only a host here at UMB, but he’s also an exquisite r&b artist with lots of soul and is getting ready to drop new songs very soon. The over five octave vocalist is currently writing and producing soulful house / EDM dance music. His latest single will soon be announced!

T.I., Big Sean, Kardashians Feeding the Needy in Hometowns ... Just In Time for Turkey Day

Hollywood seems eager to give back this year ahead of another Thanksgiving where their own bellies are sure to be full -- with some even heading back home to help others.

Celebs like T.I., Big Sean and the Kardashians were out in force this week as well as last, handing out grub to those less fortunate in anticipation of Turkey Day -- and they seemed to make a point to head to their stomping grounds to give back to their communities.

Sean, for example, was in River Rouge, MI Tuesday -- just outside his native Detroit -- where he was handing out frozen poultry at a high school. It's his 7th year doing it with his non-profit ... an event he's dubbed the Annual All-Star Giveback: Thanksgiving Edition.

Tip did something similar, arriving in Atlanta Tuesday for his own annual giveaway, except his gifts seemed to have a bit more green in them than maybe your standard food basket.

Then, we have the Kardashians -- Kim, Kourtney, Kris and Corey Gamble, specifically -- who came out together over the weekend to a food bank in L.A. to do pretty much the same.

As you know ... 21 Savage got in on the giving as well -- but he busted out the hot meals right on the spot for about 300 families at a YMCA down in DeKalb County, GA.

Good to see the rich and famous know how to pay it forward ... Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Sad days of another great artist, person and legend has died. Known for her amazing voice and talent, Aretha Franklin was an inspiration to many of R&b/ Soul/urban artists that are out in the spotlight today.

Here on UrbanMusicBuzz, we reflect on the classic songs Aretha sang, "Respect," "Natural Woman," "Freeway of Love" just name a few…

The amazing thing we can say about Aretha is that she was also an astounding pianist which shows the skills and growth of her true and flawless talent in the music business.
